BOARDING LIFE
Wrekin College is a boarding school, and the boarding ethos permeates all that we do. As well as traditional full boarding, we also offer weekly and flexi-boarding, and relatively few pupils in the school will not take advantage of the boarding facilities at some time during their school career. Boarding allows pupils to enjoy the independence and community spirit which comes from living with their peers.
Boarding can be great fun, and it can also develop self-discipline, confidence, and an ability to get on with others. Some pupils will join as day pupils but choose to become boarders later in their school careers, helping to make the transition towards university life. For others, particularly those whose parents live abroad or have to travel extensively or move around for their jobs, boarding can offer stability and continuity. Our full-time boarders are regularly joined by occasional boarders, using our Carnet Boarding Pass scheme, who enhance the boarding experience.
