What a fun, action packed but tiring few days away on the shores of Lake Bala in mid Wales. Despite some rain on the first day the weather was kind to us, allowing the Second Form to enjoy the sailing, canoeing, mountain biking and hiking.
The pupils did their own cooking in the evenings which ranged from a curry and rice to the simpler Pot Noodle. They all could set up their tents on the first afternoon but all could not work out how to pack them back into the small tent bags two days later!
Bala is all about teamwork, adventure and learning - the essential skills required for both CCF and DofE. As always some boys and girls amazed us, being in the different setting and coping far better than we could have ever have thought. The Second Form are now ready to start their new adventures in the Senior School and it is almost time to say goodbye to Lancaster. Bala 2016 was a great success and the brave staff who accompanied the group need a special thanks!
