This weekend saw an intrepid bunch of forty-three Fourth Form boys take on the challenge of their Bronze Practice expedition in Llangollen.
The weather forecast was not good but this added a useful dimension to the training - they all learnt that staying warm and dry is important...
On arrival in Llangollen they were immediately off on a walk to practise their navigation and team skills in groups of seven. Once at the campsite they put their tents up and braved the weather to cook their evening meals. The next morning they were up bright and early and off on for a full day’s walk. The expedition went well and even those who seemed to find it really hard put effort in and realised what they could do if they put their minds and muscle to it!
Next week, let’s hope for better weather when it’s the turn of the girls who are already looking forward to their expedition.
