Wrekin College

Though Wrekin College is a non-selective school, we take great pride that almost all our student leavers move on to university in the UK with Nottingham and Liverpool being particularly popular and a percentage of our students progressing to 'Oxbridge' universities. In recent years there has been increased interest in applying to universities in the USA and Europe. In recent years:

  • The percentage of grades at A*, A*-A and A*-B at GCSE in 2017 were better than any on record at Wrekin College;
  • 90% of the Upper Sixth Form applied for university;
  • 72% of students who applied through UCAS secured a place at their first choice of university;
  • 93% gained a place at a university of their preferred choice (ie First or Second);
  • Over 90% of those who applied to the Russell Group secured an offer.

Wrekin College students also go on to gain much coveted places on School Leaver programmes in large corporations, study vocational courses and undertake voluntary work both in the UK and overseas.
