FRIENDS OF WREKIN

Our Aims

The aim of the Friends of Wrekin College is to make a difference for the benefit of the pupils of Wrekin College and to additionally assist local charities. By becoming involved you can help the Friends achieve these aims.

Immediate Focus

The Friends of Wrekin College are pleased to announce, in conjunction with Wrekin College, an expanded purpose with an immediate focus on fundraising for a new multi-sport all weather pitch for our pupils.

Yor help is needed

From September, small Event Teams will organise and run the Friends events, providing a variety of social, charitable and fundraising afternoons and evenings. You are warmly invited to participate in one of these Event Teams without having to join the full Friends Committee - this gives you flexibility in the type and level of commitment you give to the Friends.

Event Teams will usually meet for around thirty minutes every other month on the following days, dates to be confirmed in September

  • Autumn Ball 2017 Team - Wednesday mornings 8:30am
  • Afternoon Tea 2018 Team - Monday mornings 8:30am
  • Sportsman’s Lunch 2018 Team - Monday evenings 7pm

Your help is always welcome - whether it is joining the Committee, or an Event Team, attending events, donating auction prizes, or giving an hour or two to serve refreshments at one of the Wrekin College evening functions.

Upcoming Event dates for your diary

  • Family Curry and Quiz Night - 22 September 2017, Wrekin College Memorial Hall
  • Autumn Ball - 18 November 2017, Hawkestone Park, in support of Severn Hospice and Wrekin College
  • Sportsman’s Lunch - 8 February 2018, with Mr Easter and Bumble in the grounds of Wrekin College
  • Afternoon Tea - 11 May 2018, for friends and family at Wrekin College
