GEOGRAPHY

The Geography Department at Wrekin strives to introduce pupils to the remarkably diverse world in which we live and to instil an understanding and appreciation of it.

From First Form onwards pupils are taught geographic skills to investigate places and the processes which give them their unique character. We aim to develop the understanding of scale in order that pupils grow up to have a mature perspective on local, national and globally significant issues.

Geography’s wonderful breadth of subject matter is evident throughout the curriculum. Human and physical geography are encountered in every academic year to keep the content stimulating for the pupils.

Geography is a broad, relevant and exciting subject to study. Those who fall in love with the subject may look towards careers in agriculture, development, management, urban planning, meteorology, tourism, environmental research and conservation, energy and many more professional arenas.
