Girl boarders spend evenings and weekends in their purpose-built hall of residence, Hadden Hall.
The girls’ Hall of Residence, Hadden Hall, is run by David and Jo Winterton, who have responsibility for girl boarders in the school, including those who stay on a flexi-boarding basis. It offers purpose-built boarding accommodation in a mix of common rooms, single and double studies.
David is an Old Wrekinian and formerly Head of PE and Games; his wife Jo is a nurse. During the day all girls, day or boarding, congregate in either Clarkson or Roslyn.
David is currently the Housemaster of Lancaster Boys and Hadden Hall; he also one of the Child Protection Officers. David teaches Physical Education GCSE and A level, as well as coaching various sports teams. David is an Old Wrekinian and was once the Bayley Head of House. Since returning as a teacher he has been assistant Housemaster in York, the Roslyn Housemaster for four years and he also enjoyed running the First XV rugby for fourteen seasons.
David has been married to Jo since 1994 and they have twin daughters Jessica and Hollie. Apart from trying to keep fit by running and cycling he enjoys his holiday time with the family in France.
