LANCASTER BOYS HOUSE

Lancaster House caters for First and Second Forms (ages 11-13). It is co-educational, though split into boys’ and girls’ sections.

The boys’ section is run by Jonathan Mather. Lancaster does not have its own boarding space, so boy boarders of this age have dedicated space within Bayley House. Lancaster House is a very important part of the school. It gives our younger pupils their own territory, leadership and reward system, allowing them to develop and settle gradually into senior school life. Lancaster pupils go on to join their senior Houses in Third Form.

Lancaster Boys House is the ‘home’ for boys entering the school in First Form for the first two years of their time at Wrekin College. Supporting the House team are three Sixth Form School Prefects. Their job is to be role models and to support both Housemaster and the tutors in looking after the pupils. The Matron plays a central role in the day to day running of the House and can be contacted by parents directly on matters regarding games kit and lost property.

The House consists of three prep rooms, changing rooms, computer room, office, kitchen, a large open plan games room, and a self-contained flat for the resident tutor. Lancaster Boys House prides itself on being able to provide excellent pastoral care in an environment that fosters good manners, promotes inclusion and fairness for all.
