The Library at Wrekin College is a welcoming space located at the heart of the school. We are open between 8.45am and 5.45pm every weekday and our experienced, knowledgeable librarian is on-hand to help with any pupil queries.
A vast selection of non-fiction books covers all subjects taught throughout the school plus leisure and outside interests. The fiction section caters for all tastes and ages and is regularly updated. Topical displays showcase the different types of books, audio books and DVDs available in the Library.
We take national newspapers daily, including the Times and The i . A number of magazines, periodicals and journals are also provided, including National Geographic, the Economist, BBC History, plus a range of general interest publications.
Every pupil at Wrekin College is a member of the Library and can borrow books and DVDs free of charge. They have access to Oliver, an online database system which is accessible from any computer in school. Oliver allows pupils to search all catalogued books within our Library by title, author or subject and also gives important information about how to use the Library.
Pupils using the Library have access to the adjoining Computer Annexe; all computers in both rooms have access to the internet for prep and research purposes. Colour printing, a scanner and a photocopier are available for pupils’ use.
