Cross Country Success

Ten Wrekin College pupils represented Telford and Wrekin Langley in the Shropshire Homes School Games County Final for Years 7-9 held in Shrewsbury.  Each race had 36 competitors and Wrekin pupils excelled, contributing to the overal success of the Telford and Wrekin Team. Henry Williams was 2nd and Dan Green 8th in the Year 7 boys' race. In the Year 8 boys' event Nathan Cox finished 4th and Luca Justice 5th. In the Year 9 event Reuben Crombie was 2nd, Joe Manton 7th, Harry Sanders 15th, Jacob Crossley 21st and Reuben Lloyd 23rd. Whilst our only girl runner, Ruby Richards, won a very competitive Year 9 girls' race.

In addition congratulations to the following pupils who have been selected to run for Shropshire in an Inter-County Cross Country race against five other counties later this month:

Sophia Malpass, Gina Rowlinson, Ruby Richards, Henry Williams, Nathan Cox, Reuben Crombie and Ross Corbett.

The pupils are pictured with GB internatinal Bethan Partridge, a high jumper (she can jump 1.89 metres!). Bethan presented the prizes and opened the Games.
