In Rugby, three early season fixtures with Shrewsbury School. A solid effort from the Under 14s resulted in a 38-15 loss. Leading early on, the 15s failed to follow up a good first half performance, tiring to a 46-10 loss. The First XV ran out a 13-0 loss in another game that could have gone either way.
The squash team had their first match of the season. Mr Nayman was very pleased with their 5-0 victory over Solihull School.
Shrewsbury School hosted the First XI, with Mr Berry reporting back from our 1-0 loss that the tempo, skill level and energy were outstanding. The Under 15s hockey debut began well with an early 3-0 lead. The final score was a 7-3 loss but a promising start to the season.
The First team had a convincing win 38-6 over Shrewsbury Sixth Form College. The Second and Under 16 teams also won comfortably. The Under 16 team had a much closer game with Shrewsbury High School, losing 13-10 in the final quarter. On Saturday, the Lancaster second form took on Moor Park School. The Under 13A squad were outstanding against a good side winning 34-6. The B team lost out but all girls available from the year group took part.
Hollie Williamson and Beth Loveday, Lower Sixth took part in a Midlands Athletics event at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham last weekend. Both took part in the 60m hurdles, finishing first and second respectively.
Gabriel Adams won the first International comp of the season back in October and then another first place in the second round of the six-round series on the 19th December. This time the field was well over 100 competitors with the Austrian, German, Dutch, French and Swiss under 16 No 1’s, so a great achievement for him. Gabriel is up to third in the World Rookie rankings at the moment with other results still to come in.

Good luck to the Under 13 netball team for Friday when they travel to Hertfordshire to play Berkhamstead School in their quarter final of the English Schools’ Cup.
