Both the boys’ and girls’ hockey teams were in action this week. The girls’ first team played Solihull School at Cannock Hockey Club and had a great win 4-1, averaging a 7-0 defeat from last term. Lorna McKenzie was the star of the match after scoring the first two goals. The boys’ teams took on Shrewsbury School losing out in both matches but gaining valuable experience.
The badminton team faced Ellesmere College at home losing out 10-1 on this occasion.
A week of 7's tournaments saw the first XV travel to the King Edwards School Stratford 7's losing in the Bowl final, the Under 14's reaching the Semi-final of the plate tournament at Old Swinford Hospital School and the Undere 15s struggling to get out of their group at the Solihull School 7's, but at last beating Old Swinford Hospital School.
The Lancasters recorded at 40-10 win over Packwood Haugh School at Under 13 level with the Under 12s losing out 25-5.
The Girls' cross country team took part in the 4 x 2.2kms Spring Relays at Attingham Park run by Shrewsbury School. They performed brilliantly to come second to the Bromsgrove School team. Any other year they'd have won. Well done for beating two Shrewsbury teams and Adams’ Grammar Girls! And congratulations to Sophia Malpass with the fastest time for Wrekin of 8 minutes and 10 seconds.
The Girls' swimming gala was an exciting event on Thursday. Congratulations to Clarkson who won both the overall and relay trophies breaking two records set in 2012. Holly Townson also broke the 50m Fly record set in 2010.
The Lancaster netball teams were in action this week. The Under 12s took part in the Packwood Haugh School Tournament, finishing third in their pool and missing out on goal difference for a play-off spot. Pride of place this week goes to the Under 13 netball team, who, after winning the County Hockey title last week, added to their success unbeaten in the County Under 13 Netball Tournament to become champions.
