Sports Update

Cricket

The First XI reduced Newcastle-underr-Lyme School to 82 with 6 wickets for Charlie Home. Charlie added an unbeaten 50 to his bowling figures, supported by Elliot Evelyn-Bufton at the end, winning by seven wickets. The Under 13s reduced Newcastle to only 78 runs. A quick 30 from Tom Redwood helped Wrekin College towards a comprehensive nine wicket win.

The Under 12s had a good win in the week, competing in the Shropshire Plate. Setting 130 against Sir John Talbot's School, they ran out winners by 52 runs. Hopefully these wins at junior level will be followed up this week when the Lancaster A B and C teams play Prestfelde School at the end of term.

Athletics

There were many outstanding performances this week, followed by the Mason Trophy on Saturday, where Wrekin was represented by Milla Furnival, Jack Ingram and Nick Street. Reuben Crombie and Millie Hodge both broke their own School Records. Pride of place goes to Adam Lloyd who threw 45.22m to take the Bronze Medal in the boys' javelin. (pictured above)

We are the only school in Shropshire to have a team through to the Shropshire School's Knockout Cup on 19 June at Oakengates in every age group.
