Athletics

The Sixth Form athletics teams were in action for the first time at Oakengates Stadium in the Telford Schools’ Competition. The girls won and the boys were second. The girls’ relay team looked very sharp and broke the school record by one second. On Saturday, combined teams competed against Shrewsbury School. There were many good individual performances throughout the afternoon and Lancaster pupils filled places in the junior section and performed admirably.

Fencing

The fencing team were in action, also against Shrewsbury School resulting in a 1-all draw.

Cricket

A tough midweeks cricket block against Shrewsbury School saw the First XI almost compete, losing out by 19 runs.

A close run affair vs Ellesmere College in the National Under 17 cup with Luke Thornton picking up three wickets, and Ryan Lloyd a speedy 33, unfortunately Wrekin were left 12 short.

Comprehensive wins vs Oswestry School at senior level and Under 13s brightened the week. Josh Pistorius and Henry Davies with three wickets each meant a chase of 62, winning by seven wickets.

The result of the week goes to the Lancasters, setting 166, thanks to an unbeaten 75 from Oli Stott, they won by 79 after all bowlers pitched in. A great season starter for them.
