Registration is the first stage of the admissions process, by which parents indicate their interest in a Sixth Form place for their child at Wrekin College. Parents fill in the registration form and pay a non-returnable fee of £100, thus securing a place for their child on the entry list for his/her year of entry. Parents normally visit the school before registration. For entry into Sixth Form we advise that candidates are registered by the beginning of the Fifth Form (Year 11) at the latest. Entrance examinations may not be taken unless a candidate is registered.
Entry into the Sixth Form is conditional on GCSE grades, reports from the student’s current school and interview. All prospective Sixth Form candidates are also required to attend the Sixth Form Entrance Day, where they will have the opportunity to meet current students and staff. They will also have an interview with the Headmaster and other members of the Senior Management Team.
If you are interested in 16+ entry in September 2017 please contact the Admissions Department on 01952 265603 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Students are offered places at Wrekin, subject to satisfactory references from their current school, in December ten months prior to admission. A place is confirmed with payment of the acceptance deposit. Joining papers are then sent out over the summer following GCSE results.
