Adele has been Deputy Head (Teaching and Learning) at Wrekin College since September 2012. She is a keen scientist, having studied Biochemistry and Genetics for her degree, and teaches biology up to A level and chemistry to GCSE. Being in the classroom remains her favourite part of the job. At her previous school she was both the Head of Science and a Resident Assistant Housemistress, roles which prepared her well for the balance of priorities that must be found at a busy school such as Wrekin. Although she gets to see lots of pupils engaging in lessons through her senior academic role, she very much enjoys seeing pupils being successful outside of the classroom too, in the many and varied opportunities on offer at Wrekin. To her, being able to sing with the chapel choir is a particular privilege of being on the staff here too.
Beyond school life, she has always loved football, playing for several teams, including Derby County Ladies, until knee injuries ended her ‘career’, as well as following the trials and tribulations of Aston Villa (she is a woman of much patience!). Adele also enjoys foreign travel (especially visiting the USA, Egypt and Portugal) and is trying to learn Portuguese, along with her husband Adrian. In order to relax (mainly in the holidays!) she likes playing the piano, painting and drawing.
