Michelle Warner

Head of PE

Michelle joined Wrekin College in 2001 as a Newly Qualified Teacher following the completion of her PGCE when she spent two terms on her teaching placement at Wrekin. She now occupies the position of Head of Physical Education. Her main passion is teaching Physical Education to GCSE and A level, and she also enjoys teaching Physics and has been involved with the delivery of the sixth form Life-skills programme and internal exams.

Michelle has always been a keen sportswoman and played county, regional and international hockey for Wales until retiring in 2000. She has coached the North Wales Under 18 and Under 16 teams. At Wrekin, Michelle has the responsibility of coaching girls hockey teams across the age range. As a former county athlete, in the summer term she can be seen on the athletics track putting the sprinters through their paces.

Michelle was previously boarding Tutor in Hadden Hall and tutor in Clarkson House and from September 2017 will become Housemistress of Clarkson. Michelle is married to Ralph and has two young daughters. She is a lover of the outdoors, horse riding, caravanning and she enjoys visiting National Trust properties.
