Pete went to Lancaster University where he completed a degree in Accounting, Finance and Mathematics. Following that was a year at Loughborough completing a PGCE with PE as a subsidiary subject. After a summer spent in America working on a summer camp in upstate New York he started his teaching career at Thomas Telford School. He has worked at a number of schools over the past 15 years including a year spent teaching in New Zealand, before joining Wrekin as Head of Mathematics in September 2013.
His twin passions are Mathematics and Sport. Along with the Maths department his aim is to pass that sense of enthusiasm and enjoyment of Maths on to the students, so that all students of all abilities can enjoy learning and gain satisfaction from making progress.
In sport, he has competed in Athletics, Football, Basketball and Table Tennis at County level. He is the First XI football coach, and in the summer runs Volleyball, Basketball and Dodgeball. He still plays football and enjoys taking his two young sons to watch the mighty Shrewsbury Town whenever time allows. He also enjoys the great outdoors and has been an instructor and assessor of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme and run school trips Mountaineering in the French Alps and more recently, the senior school ski trip to Italy.
