Tim Firth was educated at Stockport Grammar School. He studied English Literature at Sheffield University and completed his PGCE at Oxford University, being awarded a Blue for cricket. He started teaching English at Bedford School, where he was also a resident boarding house tutor, before moving to The Leys School in Cambridge where he also took charge of the cricket. He was promoted to be Head of English at The King’s School, Ely and prior to joining Wrekin was the Senior Deputy Head at Hurstpierpoint College, West Sussex and ran the Sixth Form there - he was also Acting Headmaster for a short period. Tim teaches English at Wrekin College.
Tim is a keen sportsman, with a particular interest in cricket, and also enjoys writing poetry. He lives on-site with his wife, Jane. Tim and Jane have three children: Michael is at Durham University studying Theology and Religion; Edward is at Loughborough University studying Geography and Lydia is a Wrekin College pupil.
