Reception - year 2 (Wrekin Prep)
A Warm Welcome to the Start of the Journey
Our youngest pupils begin their Wrekin journey in Reception at Wrekin Prep. A series of events throughout the year prior to starting Reception helps both children and parents feel confident and connected before that all-important first day. If you would like to start in Reception after the traditional September start, or if you would like to join when your child is in Years 1 or 2, we are very happy to help

Upper School year 3-6 (Wrekin prep)
A Place to Belong, Whenever You Arrive
If you would like your child to join us in Years 3, 4, 5 or 6 at Wrekin Prep contact our admissions team. Your child will be invited to join us for one or two taster days where they will join with their current class and be fully immersed in Wrekin Prep life.
year 7-8 (Wrekin Senior)
A Confident Start to Senior School Life
The move from Wrekin Prep to Wrekin Senior happens at the end of Year 6, with Year 7 (Lancaster House) marking the start of Senior School. This transition is carefully supported to help every pupil feel confident and ready for the next step.
We also welcome many new pupils from other schools into Year 7 (Lancaster House). Taster events held throughout the year help them settle in, meet staff, make new friends, and get a feel for life at Wrekin.

year 9-11 (Wrekin Senior)
A Confident Start to Senior School Life
Year 9 (13+) marks another key entry point, as all pupils move into our Senior Houses — an exciting step that brings greater independence and a deeper sense of community.
We also welcome applications outside of the main entry years. If you're considering joining at a different stage, just get in touch. Our team will guide you through the process and help find the best path for your child.
Wrekin sixth

Spend some time with us
Wrekin Prep - If you are considering a Reception place for the future, you will be invited to a range of events where you and your child can get to know us better. If your child is already Reception age, or older, we will invite them in for a Taster Day. This allows you and your child to experience what a day at Wrekin Prep is really like.
Wrekin Senior/Wrekin Sixth - Your child can spend the day with us and experience what a day at our school is really like.

Offer and Acceptance
Wrekin Prep - After you have spent some time with us and we are all confident that your child will thrive at Wrekin Prep, a place may be offered. Once you have decided to join the Wrekin Prep community you can accept your offer and pay your acceptance fee which secures your place.
Wrekin Senior and Wrekin Sixth - Entrance assessments for Year 7 take place in November. For other year groups (including Sixth Form), assessments are scheduled individually. Sixth Form entry includes a bespoke process involving GCSE results and interviews with Heads of Department. As long as entry requirements are met and we are happy that your child can access our curriculum, a formal offer will be made. An acceptance fee secures your place.
