Wrekin Prep: Reception - Year 2

During these formative years at Wrekin Prep, the foundations are laid for your child’s education throughout their life.

Undoubtedly, the best way to make the most of the Wrekin journey, is to begin at Reception at Wrekin Prep. This is where the foundations are laid for all future learning. Once your child is registered for Reception, you will be invited to half-termly themed ‘Stay and Play’ activities. These allow your children to get to know their classroom, new surroundings and make new friends before they start school. It also creates a friendly parent community, allowing for a seamless and easy start to school life.

It’s never too late to realise what a Wrekin Prep education can do for your child, and if you missed out on the start of the journey with us, you are still very welcome to join us. If you would like to start in Reception after the traditional September start, or if you would like to join when your child is in Years 1 or 2, please get in touch and we can help. Your child will be invited in for one or more taster days where they will join with a current class and spend some time with us.

Step 2

Visit Us

There’s no better way to experience Wrekin than to see it for yourself. Open Events are a great chance to learn more about us, but we encourage families to come for a bespoke personalised tour as well.

Step 3

Registration

When you’ve discovered all that we have to offer, the next step is to complete a registration form and pay a small non-refundable administration fee to proceed.

Step 4

Spend some time with us

Wrekin Prep - If you are considering a Reception place for the future, you will be invited to a range of events where you and your child can get to know us better. If your child is already Reception age, or older, we will invite them in for a Taster Day. This allows you and your child to experience what a day at Wrekin Prep is really like.

Wrekin Senior/Wrekin Sixth - Your child can spend the day with us and experience what a day at our school is really like.

Step 5

Offer and Acceptance

Wrekin Prep - After you have spent some time with us and we are all confident that your child will thrive at Wrekin Prep, a place may be offered. Once you have decided to join the Wrekin Prep community you can accept your offer and pay your acceptance fee which secures your place.

Wrekin Senior and Wrekin Sixth - Entrance assessments for Year 7 take place in November. For other year groups (including Sixth Form), assessments are scheduled individually. Sixth Form entry includes a bespoke process involving GCSE results and interviews with Heads of Department. As long as entry requirements are met and we are happy that your child can access our curriculum, a formal offer will be made. An acceptance fee secures your place.
