Honouring Remembrance Day in Year 2
Pupils explored Remembrance Day through stories and creative teamwork
This week, Year 2 focused on Remembrance Day during their English lessons. They read the beautiful picture book Alive With Poppies by Tomas Roberts and explored the meaning behind the day.
In Guided Reading, the children were challenged to sequence, read, and follow instructions to create their own paper Remembrance wreaths. Working together in teams, they carefully followed each command and produced some truly wonderful works of art.
It was a thoughtful and creative way for the children to remember and honour the significance of Remembrance Day.
