Year 1 Pupils Enjoy Hands-On Learning on Visit to Shrewsbury
A day of hands-on learning allowed pupils to explore art, history, and teamwork beyond the classroom
Wrekin Prep pupils enjoyed a visit to Shrewsbury Art Gallery and Museum, taking part in a portrait painting workshop and an engaging scavenger hunt around the galleries.
The trip offered pupils the opportunity to experience art and history firsthand, bringing classroom learning to life. The portrait workshop allowed pupils to develop their creativity, observation skills, and artistic techniques, while the museum scavenger hunt encouraged critical thinking, attention to detail, and collaborative problem-solving.
Visits such as this are an invaluable part of our curriculum, fostering cultural awareness, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the arts and history. Pupils not only enhanced their knowledge and skills but also gained confidence in exploring new environments and engaging with creative processes outside the classroom.
The day was both educational and enjoyable, and we are proud to see our pupils embracing opportunities to learn through experience.
