Year 2 Welcomes the Rainforest Roadshow!
An exciting day of animals, artefacts, and rainforest-inspired art in the classroom
Year 2 were joined by Mr Dave Shaw and his Rainforest Roadshow as part of their topic work. The children explored his collection of artefacts, plants, and animals, including meeting Amelia the tarantula, and heard fascinating stories from his many visits to South America.
Pupils also learned about the lives of rainforest tribes and cultures, gaining insight into communities very different from their own. They had the chance to create rainforest-themed still-life art, make Amazon-inspired jewellery, and even have tribal rainforest patterns painted on their hands or faces.
Mr Shaw has been visiting the school for many years, and it is always a highly anticipated and exciting day for the children!
