Young Mathematicians Rise to the Challenge at Wrekin
Taking part in the annual Wrekin Maths Challenge highlights our commitment to nurturing talent, teamwork, and a love of mathematics.
Wrekin were delighted to host the annual Wrekin Maths Challenge, welcoming prep schools from near and far for a lively afternoon of mathematical problem-solving. The event has become a highlight in the calendar, giving younger pupils the chance to work together, think quickly, and apply their mathematical knowledge in a series of fun but demanding rounds.
Among those taking part were our very own Wrekin Prep budding mathematicians, who embraced the challenge with great energy and enthusiasm. Competitions like this not only stretch mathematical skills but also develop teamwork, confidence, and resilience, qualities we are proud to nurture in our pupils.
The event was also supported by several Wrekin Sixth Form students, who gave their time to help mark the rounds and encourage the younger pupils throughout. Their involvement added a wonderful sense of community to the day, with older students inspiring and supporting the next generation of mathematicians.
As hosts, we are thrilled to provide an opportunity for so many schools to come together to celebrate a shared love of mathematics. And as participants, we are equally proud of our Wrekin Prep pupils for the way they represented the school.
