Academic Lectures
During the first half of term we have had a wide variety of subjects and speakers for our Academic Lecture series.
Our Lent Term academic lecture series began with Law and Business Teacher, Mr Ashington-Carter delivering an interesting and informative talk on the Mark Van Dongen and Berlinah Wallace case of 2015 and 2018. Sparking great interaction from our pupils and teachers alike, this was a great way to kick off our lecture series this term.
The second lunchtime lecture was delivered by Liam Stout, Head of Business Development at Envision Entertainment, entitled 'Artificial Intelligence in Television and Film'. He spoke about how he got into the TV and film industry and delved into the incredible developments that AI is bringing to the industry and how it's ever evolving.
Our very own Mr Carter gave a lecture entitled, ‘Slobodan Milošević: My part in his downfall’, and it was a personal and interesting insight into his time during the Yugoslav Wars.
Physics Technician, R. Hartland presented a lecture entitled "Is there anybody out there?: The potential for alien life in the galaxy", she delved into the possibility that we may not be alone! This was a really interesting insight into this subject and prompted some great questions from the audience.
Marc Brady, a Senior Lecturer in Sports Management at the Hague University of Applied Sciences gave a lecture 'Working in the Football Industry'. He gave an inspiring talk about working in the football industry, giving an insight into where to start, and what roles are available.
