Art Round-Up
It has been wonderful to see so much creativity in the classrooms!
Year 4 have been developing their transitional landscape paintings into modern landscapes using photocopying techniques. They have layered plastic sheets and drawn on their work with pens, exploring different types of mark-making to create texture and pattern.
Year 5 have been designing the backgrounds for their self-portraits, filling them with bright and bold patterns that represent their hobbies and interests. In their next lesson, they will begin adding tone to their portraits using purple ink to create depth and form in the face. I can’t wait to see the finished pieces!
Year 6 have been studying Pop Art and learning how to mix realistic tones for their glass bottle paintings. Next week, they will refine their work using pens and pencils, and they are already doing a brilliant job.
Year 3 has also been busy creating acrylic mixed media paintings of ammonites. They have worked incredibly hard to mix earthy, grungy colours and have experimented with a variety of materials, including oil pastels, newspaper, coffee, pen and acrylic paint.
