Celebrating Creativity on International Dot Day
Pupils celebrated International Dot Day, embracing creativity, courage and collaboration through a day inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ much-loved book, The Dot.
The story follows Vashti, a pupil who believes she cannot draw, until her teacher encourages her to make a mark and see where it takes her. Inspired by this message, pupils were invited to create their own designs on paper plates, using a range of materials including pencils, paint, oil pastels and textiles. From colourful patterns to bold designs, every plate was a unique expression of each pupil’s creativity, celebrating the idea that everyone has the ability to make their mark.
