Clarkson Triumph in Senior House Debating Final
After five rigorous rounds of thought-provoking debates, York and Clarkson advanced to the Senior House Debating Final to argue the compelling motion: “This House believes that free will is an illusion.”
Both teams demonstrated exceptional critical thinking and eloquence, presenting well-structured arguments and engaging confidently with challenging philosophical concepts. Their rebuttals were sharp, their reasoning sophisticated, and the standard of discussion reflected the hard work invested throughout the competition.
Following extensive deliberation by adjudicators Mr Smith and Mr Asch, Clarkson were declared the winners of this year’s Senior House Debating Final.
Congratulations to both teams for a captivating and intellectually stimulating final, and well done to Clarkson for securing the title.
