Class 6P Explore Wartime Britain in Their Assembly
Class 6P shared their learning through an assembly focused on evacuation and life in wartime Britain. Their presentation was clear, informative and showed just how much they have discovered during their history topic.
The pupils explained what it was like for children to be evacuated during the Second World War, describing the feelings and uncertainties that many experienced as they left their homes for the countryside. Their thoughtful explanations helped the audience understand this important part of Britain’s past.
They also read out poetry they had written themselves. Each poem gave a different insight into the experiences of children living through the war.
During the assembly, the class presented their own propaganda posters, including versions inspired by the famous “Dig for Victory” campaign. These posters highlighted how wartime messages encouraged communities to work together.
Several pupils shared stories from their own families, reflecting on the experiences of grandparents and great-grandparents during the war.
Well done to Class 6P for an informative and well-presented assembly.
