Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award
Over the weekend, four groups of our Fourth Form pupils took part in a Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award practice expedition, designed to prepare them for their qualifying expedition next month. The expedition provided an invaluable opportunity to build key skills in navigation, teamwork and resilience - all essential elements of the DofE experience.
Starting around Llandegla Forest and the Horseshoe Pass they practiced their navigation skills on the southward routes to their campsite at Valley Crucis Abbey. The students quickly set up camp and had a good rest overnight before travelling to the famous Pontcysyllte Aquaduct via Castell Dinas Bran.
We are very proud of all those who took part and would like to commend them for their effort and commitment. Their success on this practice expedition is a strong indicator of their readiness for the qualifying expedition. We look forward to supporting them on the next stage of their DofE journey.
