Eco and Food Committee Explore Sustainable Catering
Members of the Eco and Food Committee met with Dave Cook, Head Chef at Wrekin Prep, and Ruth Davies, Head of Catering across Wrekin College, to learn more about sustainability in the school’s catering practices.
During the meeting, pupils discovered how ingredients are sourced locally, helping to reduce food miles and support regional producers. They also gained insight into how food waste is carefully managed, including the menu planning strategies used to minimise waste.
The session provided a valuable opportunity for the pupils to ask thoughtful questions and share their own ideas and suggestions about sustainability and food at Wrekin Prep.
