Exploring Life Cycles: Wrekin Prep Pupils Nurture Fluffy Chicks

This term, Mrs Poole, our Head of Science, has been overseeing the hatching and care of a group of beautiful, fluffy chicks in the Wrekin Prep lab. Our pupils have had the unique opportunity to observe their growth, understand life cycles, and take part in their day-to-day care.

Beyond the scientific learning, this experience has been invaluable in teaching responsibility and empathy. Pupils have developed practical skills in looking after living creatures and understanding the commitment required to care for animals.

We are also delighted to share that all of our chicks have now been happily rehomed with families within our school community. This has allowed our pupils to see the full circle of care; from observation and nurturing to ensuring the chicks continue to thrive in loving homes.
