Food Committee Visit to Not JUST Food Bank
Members of the Food Committee enjoyed an inspiring and hands-on visit to Not JUST Food Bank, where they saw firsthand how their efforts and donations make a real difference to the local community.
The children were fantastic ambassadors for Wrekin, even helping to load some of the donated food onto the van! The staff at Not JUST Food Bank were wonderfully appreciative and kindly gave the pupils a tour, showing them how food parcels are organised and distributed to families in need.
Volunteer Jay, a valued member of our parent community, spoke to the children about the difference between best before and use by dates and highlighted the importance of reducing food waste; a valuable lesson for everyone.
A huge thank you goes to Nigel and the Site Services Team for their support, as well as to Helen and Lee for helping to make the visit possible. It was truly a team effort and a meaningful experience for all involved.
