From the Shropshire Hills to the Peruvian Andes

Thirteen Wrekin pupils from Fourth Form to Upper Sixth travelled to Peru with Camps International, taking part in sustainable community and conservation projects while experiencing the country’s breathtaking landscapes and rich culture.

During the expedition, pupils got stuck into a range of community projects, working alongside local people and gaining an insight into life in Peru. They also had the opportunity to explore the country’s remarkable landscapes and embrace the challenges and experiences that came with travelling and working in a very different environment.

The expedition culminated in a trek to the iconic Machu Picchu, providing a memorable finale to an adventure that combined community work, conservation, cultural experiences and plenty of opportunities for personal growth.
