Gold DofE Students Hone Their Expedition Skills

Our Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award students headed to Caer Caradoc in the Shropshire Hills for a day of expedition training, putting their navigation skills to the test in challenging conditions.

Working in four groups, students practised navigating the area’s demanding terrain using contours and compass bearings, while also refreshing their knowledge of the Countryside Code. Strong winds and occasional rain added to the challenge, making it a valuable opportunity to build confidence and develop their expedition skills.

A successful day of training, the experience prepares students for their next step: a training weekend in the New Year.
