House Singing

Always a highlight in the Wrekin calendar, House Singing 2024 was an evening to remember. Huge congratulations go to Roslyn for their House Song 'The Climb' and their Part Song 'Midnight Train to Georgia'. Congratulations to all of the Houses for all of their hard work over the past few weeks, it was a fantastic evening.

The topic for the House Singing, here at Wrekin, can at times be somewhat tricky to guess! However, this year the biggest world event was the Olympic Games so that became the topic. The songs this year were related to both the Summer and Winter Games and it was great to see some of the clever links to the Olympics some Heads of Houses have found!

With Wrekin being a school that has pupils from 20 Olympic competing nations it also provided the opportunity to celebrate our diversity and get the Houses to learn the National Anthem of a non-English speaking nation. The prize for best national anthem went to Tudor for their rendition of the National Anthem of Bolivia.

Thank you to Rhian Jackson for stepping in at the last minute to adjudicate.
