House Singing 2023!
And the winner is... LANCASTER!?
Well done to Lancaster for lifting the House Singing trophy! The competition was adjudicated by Ciaran Yeo, who will be joining Wrekin in January 2024 as Assistant Director of Music. This year's theme was Space and each house presented a House Song (performed by the whole House) and a Part Song:
Bayley sung 'Starman' by David Bowie for their House Song, and 'Talking to the Moon' by Bruno Mars for their Part Song.
Tudor performed 'Dancing in the Moonlight' by Sherman Kelly for their House Song, and 'Moondance' by Van Morrison for their Part Song.
Lancaster won by singing 'Counting Stars' by OneRepublic for their House Song, and 'Here Comes the Sun' by the Beatles for their Part Song.
Roslyn presented 'Drops of Jupiter' by Train for their House Song, and 'Fly Me to the Moon' by Bart Howard for their Part Song.
Clarkson sung 'Walking on Sunshine' by Katrina and the Waves for their House Song, and 'Rewrite the Stars' from The Greatest Showman for their Part Song.
York performed 'Rule the World' by Take That for their House Song and 'Blue Moon' by Rogers & Hart for their Part Song.
A special mention also goes to Hadden for their crowd-pleasing performance during the interval that got everyone on their feet singing and dancing!
A huge well done to all of the houses for their performances, and to everyone for all the hard work put into rehearsals over the past few weeks! It was wonderful to see the whole school coming together for what is undoubtedly a highlight of the school year! Take a look at the Part Songs below.
