Sydney won Gi in her weight division, Absolute (open weight Gi), and No Gi, at the Elite National Jujitsu Championships. This follows on from her success in the European Championships, meaning Sydney won four gold medals in a week. Just this week she became British champion at Jujitsu at the British open in Manchester at 60kg weight bracket - a tremendous achievement. Well done Sydney!
Second Former Harry continues his success in Shooting. In a change from his usual range shooting, Harry competed in British Shooting's 'Target Sprint' competition and won gold in the National Series, despite the wind and rain! Harry's result means he has been invited to attend the Target Sprint National Finals in September. On the basis of his recent performances Harry has also been invited to compete in the NSRA Junior Internationals in August, another impressive achievement.
Well done to Third Form pupil Harry who has achieved his junior Rally Driving licence at the age of just 14. To qualify for his licence he had to sit an adult and junior test and also be assessed on his driving skills by a professional rally driver. The rally driver assessing was none other than three times British rally champion Matt Edwards! He gave some very good feedback on Harry's driving skills, and continued to give expert tuition for the rest of the day to hone Harry's skills. Harry will be competing in the Junior F1000 Rally tournament this year, and we look forward to hearing how he gets on.
