Individual Sporting Achievements
There have been plenty of sporting achievements this half term, and we recognise the efforts of all pupils, whatever their level, for participating. These pupils have performed exceptionally in their individual sports.
Beth - Swimming
Congratulations to Beth for her brilliant performance at the English National Swimming Championships in Sheffield. Beth is now a Gold medallist and English Nationals Champion in the 100m freestyle (16 years age group), and a Silver medallist in the 200m freestyle! She also qualified for the 50m freestyle, finishing fifth in the final, and the 400m freestyle, finishing 14th.
Swim England wrote the below commentary: "Beth flew home from lane three to claim the 16 years gold. She only broke the one-minute mark in the heats, but now she went under 59 seconds with an incredible two lengths where she finished in 58.74. She timed her race perfectly".
Following on from Beth's success at Nationals, she has been selected to take part in the National Youth Development Programme. This involves her attending training days and camps throughout the year to support her athletic development with other swimmers.
