Jackfield Tile Museum

Last week, our Year 3 pupils visited the Jackfield Tile Museum where they learnt about the fascinating history of tile production here in Shropshire and had the chance to decorate their very own tile.

Jackfield was in fact the centre of tile manufacturing in the Victorian and Edwardian periods. This industrious area of Shropshire produced a lot of tiles that pupils will have come across on their travels across the country, a notable example would be the iconic tiles that we all recognise from stations across the London Underground.
