Marking Remembrance

There was a short service on the 11th November to mark Armistice Day ahead of the whole school Chapel Remembrance Service, which was held on Remembrance Sunday.

The Saturday service included the playing of the Last Post by our buglers, and two members of the CCF laid poppy wreaths.

In the Sunday service the whole Wrekin Community joined together to remember all those, including those Old Wrekinians who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Pupils stood to represent each Old Wrekinian read out on the Roll of Honour, and pupils, staff and parents paid their own silent tributes as they laid their poppies on the chapel steps. Captain Jonny Longfellow was this year's speaker and Sergent Julie Farmer represented the Old Wrekinians.

Our CCF marched through Wellington, along with other local organisations to pay their respect at the town's memorial.
