Poetry Takes Centre Stage at Wrekin
Wrekin celebrated National Poetry Day by bringing staff and pupils together to share and perform poetry across the campus.
Throughout the day, members of the school community read a range of poems, from classic works to contemporary pieces and original writing. The Headmaster, Mr Smith, delivered a reading of Toads by Philip Larkin, while Mr Jennings also shared another of Larkin’s poems. Noah, one of our Lower Sixth students, also performed one of his own compositions, showcasing the creativity and confidence of Wrekin’s young writers.
The day provided an opportunity for the school to celebrate poetry and the written word, reinforcing Wrekin’s commitment to encouraging creativity and expression among pupils and staff alike.
