Prep Sports Round-Up: Football and Hockey Highlights
It has been a busy and successful start to the sporting season at Wrekin Prep, with our pupils representing the school across football and hockey fixtures and festivals.
Under 11 Football vs Birchfield
Wrekin Prep welcomed Birchfield for an exciting afternoon of Under 11 football on the home pitches, with both teams enjoying plenty of action and goals.
The Under 11 A team secured a win in a thrilling, high-scoring match, showing sharp finishing when it mattered most. Meanwhile, the Under 11 B team delivered a dominant performance, demonstrating excellent teamwork throughout.
Under 11 Football at Shrewsbury School
Our Under 11 boys and girls enjoyed a fantastic day of football at Shrewsbury School, showing determination, sportsmanship and great team spirit.
The girls had an outstanding tournament, winning all four of their league matches before narrowly missing out on victory in the final by just one goal. The boys also put in a strong performance against tough opposition, finishing with two wins, one draw and two narrow defeats. They conceded just three goals across their five matches, highlighting their defensive strength.
Well done to all the players for their efforts and for representing the school so positively.
Under 9 Girls’ Hockey at Packwood
The Under 9 girls’ hockey season got off to a great start at the Packwood Hockey Festival, where our Year 3 pupils played their first-ever fixture for the school.
Supported by Year 4 pupils across three teams, the girls made excellent progress throughout the afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a brilliant introduction to competitive hockey and a promising start to the season.
