Senior House Debating- so far!

This half term has seen three rounds of Senior House Debating, which means we are halfway to the final!

The first debate saw arguments for and against the controversial protesting methods of Just Stop Oil, there were some convincing arguments put forward. Tudor prevailed over Bayley, and Clarkson took the victory over York.

The second round had a very interesting motion 'this house doesn't believe in the post-Elizabethan monarchy'. This provoked some strong arguments on both sides, with Bayley claiming a victory over Clarkson, and York taking the win against Roslyn.

The subject for the third round of debating was about banning sugary drinks for those under the age of 18. This round saw a very high calibre of debating, with some compelling arguments. There was lots of enthusiasm and engaging questions from the floor. Ultimately, Bayley took the contest from Roslyn and Clarkson prevailed against Tudor.

Congratulations to all of those who have taken part in House debating so far. Whether it was your first debate or you are a seasoned professional, you have done your House proud! The competition is only going to get more fierce as we move into the next half term, and the final looms ever closer!
