Volleyball

Our first ever volleyball win! Against TCAT, the team played with game intelligence and precision and in a hard fought battle came out on top. It just shows the improvement that can come from dedication, practice and a real sense of enthusiasm and enjoyment of sport.

Netball

The Lancaster A and B teams were dominant again with wins over Charlton School, Moreton Hall and Idsall. The 2nds produced a great result against Lucton 1sts, winning 26-18. The 1sts and U16s had comfortable wins over Bablake & King Henrys.  The U15 & U14 "Bteams also had good wins over Lucton.

Rugby

Two strong wins over a competitive Corbet School at U13s and U16s sees both teams accrue some valuable group stage points in the County Cup. The U13s complete their group this Wednesday with hopes of progressing to the County Cup Semi finals. Both teams showed some excellent discipline in adverse and wet conditions.

Hockey

The Boys U18s played against an outstanding Ellesmere team and were on the receiving end of a heavy scoreline, however U15s followed this up with a heavy win of their own. The Boys U12A team won the county championship in what was the first time playing hockey for many of the players, and they now progress to midlands finals. The U12B team finished 3rd in the tournament, demonstrating a great natural sporting ability.

Congratulations go to Herbie! During half term he made his England U16s debut, earning his first two caps against Ireland. This is a truly remarkable achievement, and we look forward to seeing how far he can really go from here.

Squash

A hard fought squash match against a talented Tettenhall troupe resulted in a silver medal position for Wrekin before half term. Unfortunately the opposition, which included the Manchester Open U17 squash champion, proved too strong. Fergus and Ned restored parity winning a robust encounter. John then worked hard but came second, Benedict also lost out. Finally, Saffron did herself and the school proud as our only female representative playing some deft drop shots before being properly schooled by the Tettenhall No 1. Gio was a valuable water carrier, and the match was played in a great spirit with the return fixture coming shortly.

Football

The First XI were away at Shrewsbury School to play their C team. They ran out comfortable 4-1 winners, with joint Man of the Match performances from Sammy and James. Pick of the goals was Oliver, who scored from the half way line straight from the kick off.

Shooting

Harry continued to build on his recent success in Shropshoot 2024, a county-wide Scouts event. Harry won medals in all disciplines, winning the aggregate gold, his scores contributed to his team winning the team championship, his first competition in the 13-18 year old age group. Harry's results were….Senior Pistol Bronze, Senior Sporter Crossbow Silver, Senior Standing Rifle Silver, Senior Aggregate Gold and Team Championship Gold.
