Tennis

On Wednesday, our Under 15 and Under 13 Boys took on Thomas Telford School in the LTA leagues. The Under 15 Boys lost 4 sets to 2, and our Under 13 Boys won 6 sets to 0.

On Saturday, there was a large block fixture against Oswestry School. The Under 18 Boys won 6 sets to 0, our Under 15 Boys won 5 sets to 1, our Under 15 Girls lost 6 sets to 0, our Under 13 Boys won 6 sets to 0 and our Under 13 Girls won 4 sets to 2. Some great tennis played all round. A special mention to the Under 13 Boys team of Hugo, Tom, Louis and Charlie for being undefeated so far in the season!

Cricket

The 1st XI Boys bowed out of the National Cup on Thursday to a strong Shrewsbury School side. The boys should be extremely proud of their efforts in this competition.

On Friday, the Under 15s lost a close encounter in the County Cup Final. The game could have gone either way, but unfortunately Wrekin lost out on this occasion.

On Saturday, The Under 14A Girls had an outstanding win against local rivals Ellesmere College. Martha was the pick of the batters, and it was an all round bowling performance.

The Under 13A Girls had their first T20 format hard-ball game against Ellesmere College. Despite the loss, the team demonstrated great team work, and showed excellent potential for hard-ball matches in the future.

Athletics

On Saturday, a number of pupils took part in the Shropshire Championships at Oakengates. Some of the events saw pupils qualify for the prestigious Mason Trophy in Birmingham next Saturday.

Sydney won both the 200m and Hurdles, gaining new PBs.  Abi came 3rd in the 300m, Finley 3rd in the 1500m, Alfie 2nd in the 200m and finally Chloe was the winner of the 1500m.
