Before the half term break….

Cross Country

Jake has been selected to represent Shropshire at the English Schools.

Cricket

It was the turn of the Under 15 Boys to compete in Indoor Cricket before half term.  The squad all played brilliantly throughout the morning, their bowling and fielding being superb in every game.  They adapted well to the nature of the indoor game, progressing through the rounds to finish as winners, and move into the next stage of the competition.

Hockey

Before half term, the 1st XI took on Ellesmere away. They played their best hockey of the season so far but conceded a goal against the run of play, losing 1-0. 

The Under 13s and Under 12s had spirited friendly fixtures against Prestfelde. Both teams played some nice hockey.

Over half term, the staff and boys league hockey team had two fixtures against Beacon Hockey club and Litchfield. They won 15-0 and 9-0 respectively. great results, and  availability over the holidays. The boys are still top of the league heading into the last five games of the season.

Athletics

Lizzie competed in the Keely Klassic, a World Athletics Tour Bronze event held at the Utility Arena in Birmingham. Lizzie ran the 60m event against Sophie Hahn, a Paralympic and commonwealth medalist. She achieved a new personal best of 9.00 seconds. This was in front of the largest crowd she has competed in front of and it was shown on BBC iplayer.

Basketball

A well contested game against Shrewsbury School saw Wrekin just losing out, 45-58.

Running

Archie and Esther competed in the Ironbridge Railway Ultra Run over half-term.

Netball

Before half-term, in the National Bowl competition, the Under 16s had a convincing win over Wright Robinson College in Manchester, taking them to the Final playoffs in March. The Under 13 team won all their games at the County Championships, including an excellent win over a strong Thomas Telford team in the final.
