The end of term is fast approaching - but Wrekin Sport does not slow down

In Badminton, Wrekin hosted Lucky Strings badminton club for two friendly matches, one mixed and one mens. Wrekin won both matches 6-0.

SWIMMING. In the recent Telford schools Gala, Wrekin came 2nd overall, only 7 points behind Thomas Telford. The Lancaster's and Intermediate boys team won their age groups

One new record was broken by Finley T in the intermediate 50FC event.  

In the recent House competitions, individually:

Junior Girl winner - Eleanor H  and Runner Up - Nancy G, runner-up.

The Senior Girl Winner - Beth B and Runner Up - Holly M.

Individual Boys winners were Senior Jarrod C and Runner Up Alonso NG. 

Junior Boys winners  Finn T and Runner-Up Ollie C.

Lancaster winners  Esmay J and Runners up jointly Tilly S and Eliza S 

Boys winner Adam R & runner-up Seb H

House Winners:- 

Boys YORK and Girls CLARKSON and Lancaster winning Quarter was won by CLUN. Individual records were broken by Finn T, Sam G, Charlie S-K, Tudor Relays, Esmay J and Adam R.

In hockey the U12 boys and girls both competed in their Midlands finals. The boys came away with two draws, three losses and one win against Newcastle under Lyme school. The girls had two draws and 4 losses. On Wednesday the boys 2nd XI beat Oswestry 1st XI 8-0 and on Saturday the boys and staff league team beat North Stafford Hockey club 3-0.. On Sunday the girls 1st XI, 2nd XI and boys 1st XI lost against OWA and the boys 2nd XI won 3-2.

In rugby the U13s came through a tough Semi Final on Monday against Church Stretton School, recovering from 4 tries down to win in the final minutes. They now move to their first County Cup Final.

In Netball the Lancasters had a mix of wins, a loss and a draw v Prestfelde. The U15s & U13s beat Princethorpe, the 14s & 12s lost out. On Sunday, a great competitive game v Old Wrekinians saw the school First team take command, winning 45-31.

Finally, an outstanding afternoon here at the County U12 Tournament, hosting 14 teams.  Wrekin were unbeaten and faced Pretsfelde in the final, winning in extra time 12-6.
