Wrekin Prep's First Swimming Championships
The Wrekin Prep Swimming Championships provided an exciting afternoon of racing, with pupils demonstrating exceptional effort, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Pupils competed for points across a range of disciplines, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly over 25m and 50m distances. The event also featured an Individual Medley race for the top six swimmers in Years 5 and 6, adding an extra level of challenge and excitement to the championships.
Competition was fierce across all age groups, with some truly outstanding performances on display. A particular highlight was the setting of three new school records. Joshua broke the Under 9 Boys' records in both the 25m Freestyle and 25m Butterfly, while Kitty set a new Under 11 Girls' record in the 100m Individual Medley. These are fantastic achievements and a testament to their hard work and dedication.
Congratulations also to our age-group champions:
Under 9 Girls: Gloria
Under 11 Girls: Kitty
Under 9 Boys: Joshua and Saras
Under 11 Boys: Zak
A huge well done to every pupil who took part. The enthusiasm, commitment and support shown throughout the afternoon made the championships a memorable occasion.
